Mineral Silk is a Family Owned and Operated company. We have all worked together at manufacturing the Mineral Silk Product line. We all work at mixing, filling, labeling and packaging your orders and getting them out the door in a timely manner.
We do not sell our makeup in bulk to other companies to use and claim as there own nor do we sell private label. However, we do sell our products wholesale to Spas and Salons, but it will always have the Mineral Silk name on the label!
Our mineral makeup line was created back in 2004 when a friend of mine showed me a small jar filled with powder she got from her esthetician. She was raving about how it felt on her skin and that I should try some to cover up that "redness" on my face. What are friends for other than to be brutally honest! So she applied some to my face and later that evening when I went to wash my face I noticed that it still looked good and there was still no redness showing through like my normal makeup. I told her to grab me a jar the next time she went to her esthetician.
The next week I was so excited when she brought some home for me, that is until I knew this little jar of miracle powder was going to cost me $45.00! I had to look on the bright side it was supposed to last forever and it did not seem to irritate my sensitive skin or make me itch, well at least not the first week. I returned the makeup and then went in search of this magical "mineral powder" on the internet.
There were a few brands available on the net including the original one that I tried but, that seemed so expensive that I felt there must be a brand that was similar in quality and less in price. Remember this was only a few years ago and there was a small handful of companies on the web to choose from. I can't imagine being new to the mineral makeup experience and having to sort through all of the companies that sell on the web today.
After searching for what seemed days I found a few different brands. I ordered a foundation from each of them and that is when I noticed that my skin had different reactions to different brands of mineral makeup. I thought they were all the same but, when comparing them side by side I started to notice little differences. Some made my face shiny or gave me an enlarged pore look. Some made my face itch instantly, others were fine until it became humid out and then I would get this pin prickly feeling and my face would start to itch, get red and blotchy. Some gave me terrible cystic type acne which seemed to happen overnight. Others didn't cover, or stay on long enough to even give an opinion about.
So taking all of the above into consideration we researched ingredients, mixed batches, threw batches away, mixed more batches and tested and mixed again until we came up with what you are wearing today "Mineral Silk".
We have found by using the highest quality of ingredients with no fragrances, fillers, dyes, waxes or other binding agents that you will get the best mineral makeup out there. It has taken us awhile to get the perfect formula but, we believe we have it, and so do our customers!
